Shuada is a vacuum world, lacking any atmosphere or surface water. The system has a population in the millions of sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Khandi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Shuada, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. During the Long Night this world was named Vliiir Iir.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Shuada is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Shuada has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Shuada has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
History and Background[edit]
A recent Zuchai Crystal find has catapulted Shuada from an uninhabited rock into a bustling, thriving mining center. The majority of the mining rights are held by Sternmetal Horizons, with smaller stakes held by Metallurgias Generales SA and various independents.
The aggressive tactics used by Sternmetal to buy out the lesser stockholders and deny others gaining a larger share has led to increasingly more violent acts of sabotage against the megacorporation. As a consequence, there is a heavy Sternmetal security presence, operating under the pretense of the official planetary police force. Sternmetal has installed a sympathetic puppet government. The tensions have created a market for mercenary forces.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Shuada has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used here:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
