Pysadi is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors. This is a low technology world with technology competency below the standard for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Aramis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Pysadi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Pysadi is a binary star system.
- The primary is a white main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Pysadi orbits within its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Pysadi is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Pysadi has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Pysadi has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A map of Pysadi exists within AAB Library Data records.
The world has one major continent and one subcontinental landmass, as well as a number of smaller islands. There is a tiny northern polar icecap and a large southern icecap, entirely covering a number of large polar islands. Lowland areas are marked in green, highland and mountainous regions are shown in brown, and the central arid region of the major continent is depicted in tan.
Bodies of Water:
- Black Sea
- Home Straits (marked as H.)
- Sea of Storms
- Sea Womb (marked as W.)
Settlements:
- Sadi, a sprawling metropolis that serves as the capital of the world and an infrastructure hub. The world's major downport lies to the northeast.
- Coldwater
- Irontop
- Itzeny
- High Plateau
- Greenery
- Shore Pass
- Holdeast
- Llyn
Native Lifeforms[edit]
- Anola: Pysadi is also the sole environment of the Anolas, a hermaphroditic prosimian analog (similar in performance and function to a member of the Terran genus Platypoecilus). Anolas are "naturally" considered holy by the Mother Church, and their capture, study, or export is prohibited. Killing one is a capital offense.
- Howood
- Skymelon
- Trake
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Pysadi has long been ruled by a religious dictatorship, the "Mother Church." This faith worships the world Pysadi itself, believing Pysadi to be the mother of all things (much like the Terran Gaia movement of the -2500's).
World Starport[edit]
Pysadi has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Pysadi has a population of 2,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Trade Data[edit]
Offworld, Pysadi is renowned for its fruit. Fresh (and preserved) fruit from Pysadi is esteemed (and accordingly priced) throughout the Domain. In fact, Pysadian fruit is one of the few agricultural commodities that is actually shipped in low berths to preserve its freshness. Notable Pysadian fruit include skymelon and trake. Trake grown on Pysadi produces much better trake wine (called atrake) than that from trake grown elsewhere, but alcohol is forbidden by the Mother Church, making the production of Pysadian atrake a difficult proposition.
Note that Zilan eiswein is distinct from normal atrake. It is made from trake crops on Zila that get hit by early freezes. It is rare and highly valued.
