History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Orylla is one of the four major powers of the Tellerian Cluster. However, it is the least of the four, and is often mentioned as an afterthought by outsiders. Blessed with significant mineral reserves, Orylla is aligned with the trading giant of Maya (Vanguard Reaches 1703) but its strong anti-psionic stance puts it at odds with the nearby Zhodani Colonnade Province, limiting overall influence outside the Cluster.
World Starport[edit]
Orylla has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Orylla has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Orylla possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Orylla is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
World Military[edit]
Orylla presents its military as a defensive force but it has engaged in raids directly targeting its rivals of Drien and Telleria.
World Law (L)[edit]
Orylla has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Culture[edit]
Orylla's people are known for their fierce patriotism -- and their dislike of offworlders.
