Oromet is a poor, high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- This world is always on the edge of revolution as the common citizen struggles under extremely low wages. Much dissent is present.
- It is a member of the Protectorate of Leset in the Xelan Subsector of Far Home Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.
- This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It is a member of the Ritos Cluster.

System Data[edit]
Numenor-Oromet System[edit]
The primary is Numenor, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.072 Sols, a mass of 0.5538 Sols, and a diameter of 783,000 km. (I) Oromet orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (II) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (III) a dense icy planetoid belt, (IV) a ringed large gas giant, (V) a small gas giant, and (VI) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Andunie Subsystem[edit]
The companion is Andunie, an ordinary red main sequence star that lies approximately 4,870 AU from Numenor. It has a luminosity of 0.0268 Sols, a mass of 0.4258 Sols, and a diameter of 658,000 km. (I) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (IV) a ringed gas giant, and (V) a trace atmosphere worldlet form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(I) Oromet[edit]
(I) Oromet is designated the mainworld. It orbits Numenor at a mean distance of 0.18 AU (26.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 37 days 12 hours: it is tidally locked to Numenor. The axial tilt is 2 degrees. Oromet has a diameter of 6,959 km, a density of 6.44 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.64 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Numenor cause frequent geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.66 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen (N2), 18% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 34% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.4m. Mean surface temperature: 38°C. The climate is Hot and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the seas sweep across the globe.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 152 million km², Land surface area: 100 million km², Water surface area: 52 million km². The seas are concentrated into the Circlewater, a ring of seas and lakes lying within the twilight region of the surface.
- Oromet is a Twilight Zone World.
- The world experiences libration, which causes the star to move in the sky and periodically rise and fall above the horizon in the twilight region.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Numenor-Oromet System[edit]
Oromet, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (II) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
Andunie Subsystem[edit]
The temperate hospitable world lying in orbital position (I) (lying within the habitable zone) has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Oromet is a member of the Protectorate of Leset.
World starport[edit]
Oromet has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level[edit]
Oromet possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World government[edit]
Oromet is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
