Unusually for a Hive Federation world, Klota'tch's name is not Gurvin or Ithkluri in origin but Za'tachshprakh.

Klota'tch has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. As a member of the Hive Federation, Klota'tch can theoretically call upon Ithklur warriors as well as its own defence forces. However, the timid Za'tachk are wary of Ithklur, whose exuberant violence they find alarming.

Klota'tch has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
On Za'tachk worlds, police rarely carry lethal weaponry. Instead, they use a kaath device, which fires an electrical induction beam that stimulates the brain's pleasure centre, rendering those hit helpless for a brief time.
Za'tachk law assumes an individual is innocent until proven guilty. They utilise lawyers to defend or prosecute the accused. Legal trickery is severely penalised.

Za'tachk instinctively seek to escape uncertainty or aggression by achieving "higher ground"; this can be literal, or an appeal to moral establishment, proven theories, or tradition. Culture is structured and stylised, with little initiative.
Za'tachk have no rituals around the consumption of food. There are no standard mealtimes, nor a tendency to gather together specifically to eat. Instead, Za'tachk graze throughout the day, regardless of where they are and what they are doing. Za'tachk always carry food with them as a matter of course and every gathering will include a selection of foods, regardless of the formality.
