An important Murian colony, Gorva is one of three settlements not considered one of the "homeworlds" to have direct representation in the central government on Arcturus.

In 119, the first jump-capable Murian starship jumped from Arcturus to Gorva.

• Any action undertaken by the Altarean Confederation requires the unanimous consent of all nine members of its governing Council and ratification by governments of the nine represented worlds, of which Gorva is one.
