The rank of General (O10) is the commissioned officer rank in the Imperial Army that commands an Army or has duties of similar importance.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Each Army in the Imperial Army will be commanded by a General. Several staff posts at Army Group level or higher are also held by Officers with this rank.
The equivalent rank in the Imperial Navy is Grand Admiral, although the responsibilities of Grand Admiral are generally more senior to those afforded a General.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The rank "General" was derived from the person appointed as the "General officer commanding the field army". It is a shortened form of the ancient term "Captain-General" or "Colonel-General"
