The rank of Lieutenant General (O9) is the commissioned officer rank in the Imperial Army that commands a Corps or has duties of similar importance.

Description (Specifications)

Each Corps in the Imperial Army will be commanded by a Lieutenant General. Several staff posts at Army level or higher are also held by Officers with this rank.

• The equivalent rank in the Imperial Army Close Orbit and Airspace Control Command is Air Marshal.
• The equivalent rank in the Imperial Army Nautical Force Command is Sea Admiral.

In other services:

• The equivalent rank in the Imperial Navy is Fleet Admiral (Vice-Admiral).

History & Background (Dossier)

The rank "Lieutenant General" was derived from the person appointed as the deputy to the commanding General. The Lieutenant General was traditionally in overall command of the Cavalry Corps.
