Forge is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • It has few prospects for economic development.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Dlarashtsalash Subsector of Yiklerzdanzh Sector.
  • This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
  • This world-system has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
  • This world is controlled by Hammer.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Forge is a member of the Hammer Cluster.

Stellar Data[edit]

Forge is a quaternary star system.

  • The primary is a blue-white subgiant named Smolder.
  • The secondary is a yellow main sequence.
  • The tertiary is a white dwarf stellar remnant
  • The quaternary is a white dwarf stellar remnant.
Forge has four stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

The mainworld orbits within the outer system.

Chart Orbit Outer Region.png

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Forge is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Forge has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Vacuum World 05.jpg

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Forge has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Satellites[edit]

Forge retains a single tiny planetoid moon.

  • It orbits once every few hours.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

No native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Forge is a Danger World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.

  • Visitors are advised to act with caution.

The severe religion dominating Hammer controls this world. The military training schools all moved here in the mid 720s, as Hammer was considered too benign to shape the warrior elite they were seeking.

The system's primary star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Forge has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Forge has a population of 1,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Forge possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Forge has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

  • The priestly authorities on Hammer directly control this world.

World Law (L)[edit]

Forge has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.

World Culture[edit]

The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.
