History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

By the end of the Fifth Frontier War, the Imperial 213th and 214th fleets occupied a number of worlds belonging to the Sword Worlds Confederation: Beater, Biter, Bronze, Durendal, Dyrnwyn, Hofud, Iron, Mithril, Steel, and Sting. For various reasons, not the least the anger felt over the fact that the Sword Worlds had attacked Lanth with no prior declaration of war, the Imperium chose not to return the occupied worlds to the Confederation. Long and complicated negotiations eventually led to the establishment in late 1111 of the Border Worlds Confederation. The new polity consisted of the ten occupied worlds plus Sacnoth, which chose to turn its back on the Sword Worlds Confederation and become the biggest fish in a new pond, and Tyrfing, which was sufficiently under Sacnoth's influence to follow in its wake. Sting was chosen as the seat of its first government, the Border Worlds Commission, but by 1116 Sting left the Border Worlds Confederation while the the new government, the Border Worlds Authority, was based in Beater.

Government & Politics (Leadership)[edit]

The creation of the Border worlds was overseen by the Border Worlds Commission, which also acted as the Government from 1111 to 1116. The Committee was setup by Duke Norris under the authority of Imperial Warrant #1106/11 in 1110. It was chaired by Sector Admiral Goolanzoon but included members from all Imperial services as well as various civilians, the Commission was based in Sting till its dissolution.
The Government of the Border worlds after 1116 was the Border Worlds Authority based in its new capital Beater
The Government of Dyrnwyn was operated by the Fortarn Conglomerate registered in the Sword Worlds Confederation, which by agreement with the Border Worlds Commission reached in 1111 was allowed to continue operating Dyrnwyn, but under the Sovereignty of the Border Worlds Confederation.

Interstellar Relations[edit]

It was part of the Lunion Accords, which were Negotiated by the Border Worlds Commission. It also had other ties to the Duchy of Lunion and the wider Third Imperium.
