System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Bledarua is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Bledarua has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Bledarua has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The lonely neighbor of Koirola, this world is arguably more friendly to its 800 hardy residents, all of whom claim to be related if you go back a few generations.

Bledarua's too thin atmosphere also suffers from a high enough methane content to require filtration. While it keeps the world warmer than might be expected, it has also kept the residents from expanding despite arriving here several centuries ago. Most of the population lives on an island in one of the narrow seas, surviving on the aging hydroponics the colony brought with it and a carefully managed ocean farming operation. The world harbors considerable life, but all of it is imported species found widely across Vilani space, leading to suspicions that the current occupants may not be the first occupants. Questions regarding how the Vilani may have gotten there so early are unanswered, and the remoteness of the system means there is little interest in investigation.

Bledarua is not an Imperial member world, but that is due more to neglect and the recent occupation than any conscious decision. The colonists were Imperial and consider the world an Imperial world. No one has informed the Imperium, however.

While the residents operate as a large family unit, they do respect seniority and service, and periodically elect a "Knight" to serve as their Imperial liaison. The position comes with a traditional residence on the nearby mainland, but maintaining it is beyond their means. This means the Residence is frequently cold, dark, and deserted unless a recent Knight-nominee has seen fit to make the expected effort to renovate and occupy it for a few years.[2]

World Starport (St)[edit]

Bledarua has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Bledarua has population of 800 sophonts (hundreds).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Bledarua possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Bledarua has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Law (L)[edit]

Bledarua has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -3 (very unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 4 (scarce)
  • Labor: 1 (tens)
  • Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
  • Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)
  • Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
  • Symbols: 2 (very concrete)
