Atammer is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial world lacking adequate development for its economy to become prosperous.

• As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Clatt Subsector of Matzen Sector.

• This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
• This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
• This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
• This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.
• The planet name is pronounced "At-a-mare"

• Atammer has an orbital period of 44.12 standard days.
• The planet has no rotation and is tidally locked to its sun. This results in large areas of the planet being entirely unsuitable for life to exist due to extreme temperature and/or exposure to the suns radiation.
• Atammer has no discernible axial tilt.
• The twilight region of the planet is permanently frozen with an average temperature of -77c (-106.6f)

Mainworld Size (S)

Atammer is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.

• The planet has a diameter of 3195 miles / 5112 kilometres.
• Atammer has a molten core with a density of 0.92 standard.
• The surface gravity of the planet is 0.35 standard and is therefore classified as having low gravity.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Atammer has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

• The atmosphere of Atammer is listed as "Standard Oxygen/Nitrogen mix with a taint caused by pollutants". This does mean that although the atmosphere is breathable a filter mask is required when working outside or when exposed to unfiltered air.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Atammer has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

• 42% of the planetary surface is covered by water. The water is however frozen even in the twilight zone due to the extreme cold weather conditions that exist.
• Beneath the ice, however, liquid water does exist and the bulk of this is in the twilight zone region.

World Starport (St)

Atammer has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

• The starport is located in the hot zone of the planet surface due to a native parasite that causes damage to electrical systems existing in other areas. The parasite is especially drawn to the huge power outlays that a starport generates both from its infrastructure and the ships passing through.
• The starport is located in an enormous cavern network just below the planets surface.

Facilities

Port facilities within the system include:

• Extensive warehousing, maintenance yards and a large Scout base exist at the Starport itself.
• Atammar maintains its independance from Polities in this region of Matzen, however, it has allowed the Vilani Protectorate to locate a Naval base at the Starport. The Vilani Protectorate also provide a permanent Patrol Cruiser presence in the system.

Atammer is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

• The population of the planet is dominated by civilian settlers, however there is also a significant military presence comprising of citizens from the Vilani Protectorate naval forces.
• The local government is focussed on the needs of the civilian population and comprises of a government of elected representatives. This also has advisory councils that support it and a small civil service to provide support to the citizens of Atammer.
• It is worth noting that despite the Vilani Protectorate naval forces being present they have no direct involvement in local policy or law.

World Military

• Atammer has no recognisable military force of its own and relies on protection to be provided by the Vilani Protectorate Navy.
• There is a small local police force that comprises of locally recruited individuals.

World Law (L)

Atammer has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

• The law is applied in a uniform manner across the planet. Every individual, regardless of status or indeed local citizen or otherwise is subject to the law and the law applies equally to all.
