Empress Wave Speed & Effects (2018)

Inconsistency to resolve: If the Wave is an FTL effect, then it would not be possible to monitor it using Project Longbow as stated in the article, which measures EM emissions - the Wave would have passed by before it could be detected.

Notes (2018)

Alternate Nomenclature: Non-Canon

Because many races and polities were not sharing what they had learned of the phenomenon, each named it by different terms in their native languages. Here are some regional names that stuck:

  • Zhodani - Yonder Chilling Thought
  • Imperium - Empress Wave
  • Gvegh (Knoellighz and Gvurrdon Sectors) - Mind Tsunami
  • Akumgeda (Ksinanirz and Zhiaqrqiats Sectors) - Something Wicked
  • The Dread
  • Yaskoydris' Cry
  • other Vargr - Throwback Trigger

Still more nomenclature was made up by those experiencing the Empress Wave. As more alternates appear, please report them here.

Kline Inquiry (2017)

Ronald B. Kline, Jr. (talk) 07:35, 17 August 2017 (EDT)What triggered the wave and to what purpose? Did grandfather mess with the wrong Primordials and trigger an event? Which story did I miss?

  1. External Link: Empress Wave Resources
  2. External Link: Okay, this will probably sound like a silly question to the more knowlegable, but what exactly is the Empress Wave?

Empress Wave Chart Color? (2015)

Hi Tjoneslo, is there any chance you could color in the Empress Wave chart with the colors of the various major race polities? Or tell me how to do it? I don't have the skill or knowledge for that yet. Thanks!
- Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 13:38, 5 March 2015 (EST)

Take a look at Sector, the Charted Space table has the correct way to set colors for the sectors:
 | style="color: #000; background-color: #7090FF"
The Template:Allegiance colors generated the correct color definition for each of the major empires. Tjoneslo (talk) 14:24, 5 March 2015 (EST)

Hi Tjoneslo, I know how to color it now and the task is on my list. Thanks, Thomas!

Empress Wave Speed & effects (2015)

The Empress Wave was sped up in the Mongoose Zhodani book. It is now an FTL phenomenon.
Not having the MGT Zhodani book, was the Empress Wave having the same effect on the Zhodani it was during the TNE era?
- Tjoneslo (talk) 22:11, 16 June 2015 (EDT)

Inconsistency to resolve: If the Wave is an FTL effect, then it would not be possible to monitor it using Project Longbow as stated in the article, which measures EM emissions - the Wave would have passed by before it could be detected.

Draft Timeline (2016)

All times are as according to the Imperial Calendar, with Zhodani calendar in parentheses, where I figured it out. It appears that the Zhodani were posting one core expedition approx. every 350 olympiads (788 standard years) though most of the dates for the missions intermediate the first and seventh are conjecture.
