Aramis has a tainted, unbreatheable atmosphere and little available surface water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This system serves as the capital for the subsector. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Aramis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Aramis, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. The system supports both an Imperial Naval Base and a Scout Base with the additional starship traffic.
Astrography & Planetology
Situated on the Aramis Trace and giving its name to the region as well as the subsector is the world of Aramis, trade center and subsector capital. The planet is some 9500km in diameter, swathed with a swirling corrosive atmosphere that makes life on its dry desert surface intolerable. Nevertheless, the world boast a population of nearly 620,000, almost all contained within the tunnels of its only city, Leedor. The city is the personal feif of Marquis of Aramis, and all important posts and contracts are let on at the Marquis' sufferance and can be canceled at his whim.
Few people live outside of the city of Leedor; those who do maintain weather monitoring stations or scientific data collection, or rove about in ATVs prospecting for exploitable mineral deposits.
