The Idris class Frigate is a combatant warship.
- It is a military ship.
Description (Specifications)
This escort lacks the marines of the larger destroyer. Its two turrets are organized into three batteries of missile launchers and two batteries of plasma guns. There weapons are useless against heavily armored targets and they are used to shoot down missiles and fighters, in a close escort role. They are lightly armored and have a close, partially streamlined structure as well. They are fitted for gas giant refueling. All vessels in this squadron carry enough fuel for two Jump 1s. They have a Model 4 fib computer, 6 Gs acceleration and a 4 agility rating.
Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. | Tonnage | The Idris class is constructed using a 239 Ton hull built in a Close Structure configuration. The hull is partially streamlined, giving a relatively limited atmospheric performance that is reliant on its onboard gravitic systems.
|
- | 2. | Crew | 11 personnel.
Accommodations
Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems.
|
| 3. | Performance | The vessel mounts a Jump-1 drive, a Maneuver-6 drive, and a Power Plant-6, giving performance of Jump-1 and 6-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 4 and an emergency agility of 4. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for two consecutive Jump-1s and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration.

| 4. | Electronics | Adjacent to the [small craft bridge] bridge is a Model/4fib computer: no backup computer is installed.
| ||||
| 5. | Hardpoints | 2 hardpoints.

| 6. | Armament | The normal weapons fit-out for an Idris class is: | ||||
| 7. | Defenses | The hull is plated, structurally reinforced, and built with secure bulkheads and compartments that give it a High Guard armor rating of 2. | ||||
| 8. | Craft | Vehicles
The [vehicle] hanger can be sealed and has a volume of 4 Tons. | ||||
| 9. | Fuel Treatment | The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 62.14 Tons.
