• At the time it was the site of a small Sharurshid prospecting base.
• After first contact the Solomani, under the oversight of UNSCA, also settled Barnard.
• In -2404 (AD 2118) an incident between the Solomani settlement and a Sharurshid caravan resulted in the start of the First Interstellar War.
