The Armored Vault class Boat is a paramilitary secure transport smallcraft.
Description
The Armored Vault class Boat is akin to a flying armored car, being a secure method of transporting cash and valuables between secure locations such as banks, jewelers, and data storage vaults. It is built to conform to local (planetary) regulations that often restrict the operation of spacecraft within urban areas. The design has been widely distributed, and most TL9+ boatyards can construct it.
Although not actually intended for combat, the specifications the Armored Vault class Boat were designed to - including having a turreted weapon - are close enough that it is often classified under Combat Lander. Indeed, the Armored Vault class Boat has seen occasional use in this role, mainly for transporting infantry squads, VIPs, and small but highly important equipment or artifacts. Transporting an Ancients relic that is inert but priceless is operationally not much different from transporting bank records that may be worth a few gigacredits, differing mainly in the nature of the origin and destination - and sometimes not even then.
