The Chacinti are a technologically sophisticated sophont species.
- They are a Minor Non-Human Race with a semi-humanoid appearance.
Description:
Chacinti: Minor Sophont Species. An anachroid bipedal life form.
Homeworld:
Haradin, a temperate garden world located in Darkshade Subsector of Mavuzog Sector.
Physiology:
Their hands have three fingers and two opposing thumbs, while there fingers and thumbs have four joints each . making there fingers appear longer than humans. they have four arms , that have four joins as well and are double jointed, allowing for inhuman movements in melee combat. Their legs have four joints as well and are similar in design to that of the dromites. so all limbs appear longer in proportion to those of humans. they have clawed hands and a serrated like ridge running down each forearm. they use this in a martial art form they developed over the centuries it bestows them a +1 to their melee unarmed combat. this can be increased with training in melee natural or melee unarmed. their claws or ridge does 1d-2 per limbed used to attack.
Bilateral HBS-T-AN-LL-N Exoskeleton
Their epidermis is covered in carapace with flexible areas exposed showing a wrinkly leathery skin. This comes in greens and grays but under their green sun everyone is green. The fleshy parts have colored patters , which usually indicate a noble or royal heritage. Their heads are slightly heart shaped with two orifices for a nose that are only used for raspatory circulation. they stand 5' to 5'6" tall and weigh between 90lbs to 120lbs.
Senses
- Energy: V
- Vibration: H
- Volatiles: S
- Matter: T
- Fields: A
- Aura: P
Their eyes are coal black and they have eye lids. They can see into the IR spectrum and they have excellent low light vision. They tend to wear tinted goggles in normal light, due to light sensitivity. Normal light is blinding to them because of the eons of living underground.
They have a set of multi segmented antennae protruding from their eyebrow area, between their eyes. These antennae are short, only 10 or 13 cm long, and serve as their noses. Their olfactory senses rival terrestrial blood hounds. the antenna show mood or emotion of the chacinti as they speak to one another in sign language. The antenna show facial expressions since there faces are covered in shell and cant flex like humans can.
They have a stench defense mechanism, it causes vomiting and gaging from sinuous drainage if the species has sciences. and just the smell of it laves a horrid taste in the mouth for up to an hour, same duration of the stench if the secretion gets on you. This secretion comes from under each arm pit from an ozopour.
They have inner ears that are covered with a carapace that has a echo like chamber . allowing for normal hearing under the thick carapace covered body.
They like circles and spirals in their art work, and are excellent sculptors, engravers, and molders of clay and the like. They like contrast of darks and lights, and enjoy most colors.
Characteristics
A baseline species has the following characteristic ranges:
- Strength
- Dexterity
- Endurance
- Intelligence
- Education
- Social
They get a +1 to dex and a -1 soc. Their carapace bestows a + 1 protection overall..and their chitinth armor provides a +4 protection.
Aptitudes:
They love to climb and are swift and agile climbers, and enjoy climbing cliff's , mountains, chasms, and even trees . they are very skilled molders, engravers, and sculptors. they have a knack for stealth and recon and enjoy a +1 bonus when attempting to do so.
Movement
When down on all limbs in a spiderlike stance they are very stealthy and get a +1 bonus to stealth. they are excellent at swinging from rock to rock or branch to branch, Making them quick climbers as well. but they prefer to walk upright for better view, combat and communications.
Reproduction
They are asexual and when generating an egg, they do not produce chitinth, stink defense or poison. Everything goes to making the new life.and they become ferocious eaters for two weeks .once enough proteins and building blocks are consumed the make the egg..it comes out with 1 life inside and they only lay eggs every 10 years.
Life Stages
- 0 Infant: ½ Term (2 years).
- 1 Child: 1 Term (4 years).
- 2 Adolescent: 2 Terms (8 years).
- Career starts at age 14.
- 3 Young adult: 3 Terms (12 years).
- 4 Adult: 5 Terms (20 years).
- 5 Peak: 3 Terms (12 years).
- Physical aging begins at age 58
- 6 Midlife: 4 Terms (16 years).
- 7 Senior: 5 Terms (20 years).
- 8 Elder: 3 Terms (12 years).
- 9 Retirement: 3 Terms (12 years).
- Mental aging begins at 106 years.
They tend to their young until the age of 14, at that point they begin to live on their own. When a chacinti is giving birth to its egg, all other chacinti protect it until it regains its strength and is able to carry on. they also protect children as a group if a child is threatened. chacinti elders when they get too old to function in society , are given a chamber in the family home and are tended too. in return the elder becomes a chatinth making factory. able to produce twice the normal amount per day as their children and grandchildren can. Typical lifespan is around 150 years.
Diet and Trophics
They are omnivore ambush hunter scavengers.
They have a two part insect like mouth. the lower mandibles, for tearing off and holding food, with and upper part for grinding up food. their tongs are 5 long tentacle like things with small hooks lined along one side. they have no vocal chords or swallowing muscles. so the tong must reach up to grab the food and carry it to their stomachs. the tong can be extended out of the mouth some 8" and is often a sign of anger. but it is common that they clean all four hands after eating, with their tong's as well. They have an organ that coverts all waste into chatinth and can excrete this into the stomach and brought up with the tentacles tong.
Chitin
They do not defecate or excrete anything other than chatinith ..it comes out as a thick snot like substance from their mouths..regurgitated from an organ that builds up 2kg a day of this substance..once it hits oxygen outside the body it begins to rapidly dry and cure to become steel strength. with in seconds it becomes clay like to be shaped and molded into a desired shape. It can be shaped into simple tools or weapons..it can be formed into armor, shields,or even used for construction or patchwork. Or even serve as a make shift weld or hull patch..but because it is only produced 2kg at a time making some things take time to construct.
Their chatinth secretions can be used for climbing on slick or vertical surfaces for a short time..but must be cleaned off prior to the ten min mark before it dries in 18 to 20 minutes to become hard as steel.

Primal Drives
Species psychology is driven by factors common to many sophonts:
- Acquisition (stemming from the need to gather adequate nutrition),
- Preservation (derived from the need to continue their personal existence), and
- Perpetuation (the urge to continue the species).
They farm fungi gardens in underground chambers, as well as some vegetables and fruits on the surface. And they raise a 3ft tall insect that looks similar to aphids.they take them to feed on vegitation during the day and keep them in an undergound chamber at night. These serve as cattle..and are milked and processed into food.this stems from their primal urges to gather enough nutrition.
Behaviours
A number of other factors are significant in the mental processes of the species:
Major Drives
- They tend to be solitary
- They are friendly to most.
Minor Drives

Language
They don't posses vocal chords but can make noises, a series of clicks, screeches and grinding sounds made with their mouth pieces. they use a complex form of sign language similar to earths, and can use their antenna to show mood or emotion. they use a almost non detectable pharamone scent based communications as well , this is a left over feature from the species it was created from, the ophillan ,a type of spider commonly known as daddy long legs on earth.
