Bleeq is a poor, nonindustrial world.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world has few prospects for economic development.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Darkshade Subsector of Mavuzog Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- Around 60% of the population is made up of humans.
- About 40% of the population consists of Chacinti.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Bleeq is a binary star system.
- The primary is a red main sequence named Hanavas.
- The secondary is a red subdwarf named Ustrane.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 gas giants, named Syso Coval and Fechari.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Bleeq is tidally locked to the system's primary star.
- The star is always high in the sky on the bright face, it hangs on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
It orbits within the prime region of the primary star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Bleeq is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Bleeq has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures within the twilight zone.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Bleeq has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Primitive native life occupying a number of ecological niches. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport[edit]
Bleeq has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Bleeq has a population of 200,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics[edit]
Relations between Humans and Chacinti tend to be generally positive.
World Languages[edit]
- Anglic (Riftian dialect)
- Chacinti languages
World Technology Level[edit]
Bleeq possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Bleeq is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.
