History & Background

The worlds of the Nist Cluster were first settled during the 24th and 25th century and formed the spinward limit of the Second Confederation. They declared themselves to be an independent Polity, the Collective of Nist, during the civil wars, generally siding with the Expansionist faction. It later became part of the Grand Ascendency. Those populations of the Cluster that survived the Voyagers and the Dark Age became regressed and insular.

The development and loyalties of the Cluster were a constant source of conflict between Outworld Development and Scybrian Settlement, though in general Scybria came out on top. The Cluster was a major component of the Scybrian Polyarchy, seeing a great deal of fighting during the Scybrian Wars. The Nist War in particular consolidated its position within the Polyarchy. It suffered greatly during the later stages of the Wars. In the post-war period the Cluster elected to become independent.
