The Longer Void is an astrographic feature lying across four subsectors located within Astron Sector.
- It is a rift area of low stellar density.
- It is a barrier to interstellar travel.
Description (Specifications)
The Longer Void is an area of lower stellar density lying within the central-spinward region of Astron Sector.
- Other large rifts in the region include the Hudson Expanse to coreward-trailing and the Astron Voids to rimward-trailing.
It is considered to consist of two distinct regions:
- The Longer Void, measuring around 5 parsecs coreward-rimward by around 11 parsecs spinward-trailing.
- The Ingo Void, a separate rift region measuring around 5 parsecs coreward-rimward by around 3 parsecs spinward-trailing.

History & Background (Dossier)
The Longer Void and the Ingo Void are desolate and lonely places, their dark and empty cores mostly fringed by unpopulated, untamed wilderness systems.
- A few deep-frozen rogue worlds may lie within their boundaries.
The Longer Void prevents routine travel by vessels with less than Jump-5 drives.
- It forms a natural obstacle to travel.
Historical Data
The two voids were originally charted during the 400s, during the Imperial First Survey.
