The Guardian class Monitor is a defensive warship.
- It is a military ship and a Monitor.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
It is a vessel with 6-G and J-0 performance with a streamlined hull.
- It carries light armament and a defensive suite.
- It ordinarily carries no subcraft, no ship's vehicles, and drones when needed.
- It has a # sophont crew and # marines.
Designed to dismantle invading Battleships this class was the queen of system defense for a time. Unburdened by jump drives and fuel she was the embodiment of the battle rider versus battle ship debate. Fast, agile, well defended and carrying a formidable weapons array she could confidently pound enemy vessels. The room freed up from drives and jump fuel allowed her to carry swarms of very heavy interceptors, an equal number of lighter fighters. With 24 fighter squadrons she became a system control carrier. Generally too large to be carried as a rider, these craft tended to stay in a single system for their entire careers. Should troops be needed, a portion of the two frozen watches could be used. Human mercenaries were popular for this duty. They have a partially streamlined cylindrical hull.

[1]
