Asimidiske has a complete lack of both an atmosphere and any surface water. The system has a population between 10 million and a billion sophonts, with a self-supporting industrial base. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Amec Trade Protectorate and the Domain of Vland. Asimidiske, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a marquis. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This is the homeworld of the Calipha, a Minor Race. During the Long Night this world was named Miirnishuu. The Nahuatl name of the world is Chalchihuitl.

Astrography and Planetology

Asimidiske is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.

Asimidiske is a small moon, one of several that orbits the gas giant Cuauhtemoc. The settlement was initially set up early in the Second Imperium as a fuel refinery station.

Native Sophont: Calipha

In 304 the semi-intelligent Calipha were discovered three kilometers down in Cuauhtemoc's atmosphere. Due to extreme difficulties in establishing contact within a gas giant atmosphere several research bases were set up in mined-out craters on the moon's surface. Several large research stations are now dedicated to studying the Calipha.

History and Background

Today the planet has a population in excess of 90 million, mostly the descendants of miners. Both House of Yeipanitl and House of Xiumac maintain large refinery platforms onplanet as well as extensive mining facilities. Together they almost rival House of Aymara, which manages the largest Chalchihuitl ("Glow Jade") mining facilities in the Protectorate.

Asimidiske is home to Tlatocan University. It was during the excavations to build research centers that the construction teams discovered that Asimidiske had massive deposits of Chalchihuitl. The discovery prompted a massive influx of miners.

World Starport (Sp)

Asimidiske has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Asimidiske has a population of 90,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

World Demographics

• Human (mostly Amec)
  • There are two broad categories of citizen within the Amec Trade Protectorate:
    • The Sun-born, which consists of the nobility, their families, courtesans, and Cuaupilli (those who have successfully undertaken the adolescent Test of Worth).
    • The Amtlan, which includes the Maceualli ("tribute" or protected ones) who toil on behalf of their lord, and the Pochteca or independent merchants.
  • The Non-Human Calipha live within the gas giant that Asimidiske orbits.

Linguistic Topography

The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:

• Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
• Karanga: A Terran-derived language that is a secondary tongue within the Amec Protectorate.
• Nahuatl: A language with its roots in ancient Terra, now used as the primary language of the Amec Trade Protectorate.
• Sall: The predominate language of Bolivar (Dagudashaag 0240), spoken as a common second language in the Trade Protectorate.

The planet's Nahuatl name is Chalchihuitl (after its most plentiful resource).

Although the current Nahuatl designation is not official, it is included in order to assist travellers who may find it beneficial to use this planetary designation while travelling within the Federation. It is strongly recommended that visitors obtain a good quality translator MemClip prior to entering Federation space. Asimidiske possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)

Asimidiske is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Law (L)

Asimidiske has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

• The wise men known as Tlamatinime act as both lawyer (there are no actual lawyers in Amec Protectorate space) and judge.

World Economy

Currency is the Quetzal.

Each planet within the Amec Protectorate must pay the Tlatoani a tribute (originally it was a proper tithe of 10% of overall production but over the years it increased to 12%).

• The local bureaucracy retains 6% while the other 6% is sold under the AzTec label to help maintain the court and pay for the Amec Navy.
