History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Before 1116, Quicksilver Group Technologies, LIC (QGT) manufactured some of the most sophisticated electronic, computer and software products in the Imperium. Although possessing limited production capabilities, this corporation was known to produce highly specialized equipment for the Imperial military as well as for commercial sale.

QGT is closely linked with the Quicksilver Academy, a specialized institution of higher learning which focuses not only on electronics and computers but also on cybernetic research and sophont/machine interfaces. Founded shortly after the Psionics Suppressions in 827, the Academy has been always on the cutting edge of technology. The Academy serves as the exclusive research and development arm of QGT.

During the Rebellion, QGT supplied the Loyal Fleet with equipment and expertise up until the time the Vengeance Fleet invaded Liasdi in 1118. Between 1118 and 1119, some work was done for Lucan's forces, but it is considered to be inferior compared to pre-1118 efforts.

The exact status of QGT in 1120 is unknown.
