Kedin is a poor, low-population world located in Ximenes Subsector of Alpha Crucis Sector. The system is a member of the Imperium. Prior to the Solomani Rim War the pre-war population of the planet was mostly killed during a bombardment by the Imperial Navy from which the world has never recovered.
World Starport (Sp)
This world has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

This world has a population of 1,000 sophonts (thousands).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

In the year 1001 during the final phase of the Solomani Rim War an Imperial cruiser squadron raided the main world. The attacked resulted in the death of most of Kedin's 20 million citizens in an event remember as The Massacre of Kedin.
In 1086 the Imperial Colonial Office announced plans to resettle the world with colonists from neighboring Umkarguu (Alpha Crucis 0305).
