Margesi is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Vilis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Margesi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Era: New Era
Margesi is an agricultural world with a tainted atmosphere but still a near-ideal environment for producing foodstuffs. The system supports a population of tens of millions of sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Regency of Deneb in the Vilis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.

The atmospheric taint causes a mild allergic reaction, flu-like symptoms, and nausea is almost all humans. The effects last a few days upon initial exposure then subside. [2]
History & Background (Dossier)
Margesi was originally settled in -186 by Sword Worlders from Gram who named it Isenfang. Margesi became an Imperial client state in 849, but was annexed by the Sword Worlds Confederation in 983. The Imperium liberated the world during the Fourth Frontier War and Margesi was granted full Imperial membership in 1087.
- Margesi has been issued an Amber Zone travel advisory due its location on the border with the Sword Worlds Confederation. Internal disputes within the Confederation all-too-often spill over the border and into the Margesi system.
Margesi (Spin 1020), TNS newsbriefs, 302-1117
- Imperial officials have warned Republic of Gome authorities that the notorious Ine Givar terrorist "Snakehead" Ruddock was captured while attempting to use a shipping container to smuggle himself illegally into Margesi Starport. Port authorities believe the Ine Givar have been smuggling operatives into Margesi to disrupt talks between the Republic of Gome and the Kingdom of Evariidi.
- Ruddock and a companion were arrested while attempting to cut their way out of the sealed, 4D-size, standardized cargo container. Also in custody is the crew of the Far Trader Queen Anne Bolyne. SPA is coordinating with INI in the investigation of the incident.
- With more than 400,000 containers passing through Margesi each year, Sharuii Tsang, spokesperson for the port director, said that such infiltration tactics were almost impossible to police, despite the use of sophisticated neural detection equipment.
- "The containers are sometimes transshipped in as little as six hours and we have over 1,000 passing through each day. By the time we realize there is something suspect, the containers are often on planet," he said. "The containers are so thick that the detection equipment is simply not reliable, so random checks are a waste of time," he said.
- Tsang said SPA is relying on intelligence from the IISS and computer-generated analyses of shipping companies and cargoes to detect the illegal shipments.
