Vasil is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- It is a world within the Kostov Confederate Republic, a member state of the Solomani Confederation, in the Kostov Subsector of Neworld Sector.
- This world was colonized by and is controlled from Kostov (world).

System Data[edit]
2 Gas Giants — 3 Planetoid Belts — 2 Other Worlds
The Vasil mainworld orbits the G4 primary.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Vasil is a small, desert world with a very thin atmosphere. Nonetheless, the hemispheric temperature differences ensure constant high speed winds.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
As a system with multiple planetoid rings and 2 gas giants, Vasil space is filled with random flying debris. As such, the surface of the planet Vasil is dominated by impact craters of various sizes, primarily (but not exclusively) around the cold-pole.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Vasil is a member of the Kostov Cluster a small cluster and important trade route lying within the spinward-coreward quadrant of Neworld Sector.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while many see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.
World Starport[edit]
Vasil has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level[edit]
Vasil possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Vasil has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
Kostov law dominates Vasil. A Governor is appointed to administrate the planet, and maintain order. The Governor can and does appoint Mayors over major population centers.
World Law Level[edit]
Vasil has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Police forces are civilian in nature. Individual officers are named "Marshals", and are given wide discretion.
World Military[edit]
A division-size military base is located 10km from the planetary capitol, Vasili. It is defended by anti-air/anti-space emplacements, and has a handful of SDC craft.
In theory, it could be deployed to repel invaders, or to deal with severe environmental disasters. Typically, it operates as a desert training camp.
World Economy[edit]
The economy here relies on mining and local agriculture. Most products are used locally.
Trade Data[edit]
Vasil has little trade contact at this time, and the populace is generally unfriendly to traveller merchants.
World Demographics[edit]
Humaniti 100%
World Culture[edit]
Vostok culture dominates. The population also has a high sensitivity to water usage.
World Language/s[edit]
Vostok Russian, Anglic
Urbanization[edit]
There are 12 moderate sized, T-7 urban centers found in the twilight zone, with only the capitol being more than 500,000 people. Most major buildings are of prefabricated concretes. More recent buildings are smaller, and made of melted sand-glass.
Each has its own fission power source and is dependent on deep wells and water recovery systems to maintain themselves.
