Gashagi is a low-population garden world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in population size.
- It is a garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most forms of sophontic life.
- Both the population and economy of this world are expected to grow in the near future barring outside forces.
- This world contains an archaeological site with suspected high-tech remnants of the now-vanished Ancients precursor race.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Urunishu Subsector of Antares Sector in the Domain of Antares.
- This world was once known as Urunishu.
- A little over 90% of the population is composed of baseline humans and other non-human sophonts.
- A little under 10% of the population is composed of Urunishani.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
The world is currently home to a science team studying the effects of the alien world on so many Terran biospheres.

Native Sophont: Urunishani[edit]
The world was renamed by the IISS during the First Survey to match the name given by the indigenous population. The few remaining members of the Urunishu people have moved to other worlds in the Antares Sector.
- Please see the AAB article on the Urunishani for more information.
History and background[edit]
Gashagi is a low-population Imperial garden world, located in Urunishu Subsector of Antares Sector.
- The mainworld is an Ancients site, a vast zoological park created about 300,000 years ago, consisting almost entirely of flora and fauna from Terra (Solomani Rim 1827).
- Gashagi possessed a native Human race and a large number of species obviously very similar biologically to Humaniti, from rodents to baleen whales, including a number of primate species.
- The world is undergoing a severe ice age and period of glaciation, which has been continuing for several thousand years.
During the First Imperium this world was named Urunishu, and was, by the scientific community at the time, accepted as the leading candidate for the Human homeworld. Urunishu was subjected to additional scientific scrutiny under the Terran-controlled Rule of Man, since many of the Terrestrial-originated organisms (in particular examples of megafauna) were representatives of evolutionary lines had been long extinct on their ancient homeworld.
Finally, shortly after the founding of the Third Imperium, a more extensive study of the planet by Magis Sergei haut-Devroe eliminated Gashagi as Humaniti's homeworld. The Solomani Hypothesis published in 114 contained the final conclusions, and was supported in 588 by additional studies.
Imperial high nobility[edit]
Gashagi, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.
World starport[edit]
Gashagi has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World technology level[edit]
Gashagi possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World government[edit]
Gashagi has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
