Ultwar is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial garden world.

  • Garden worlds are known for their near-ideal utopian environments conducive to most sophonts, plants, animals, and other forms of life.
  • It is a pre-agricultural world with an environment suitable for large scale agricultural and livestock industries that have not yet been widely developed.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly rise barring outside forces.
  • It is a member of the Zhodani Consulate in Ienji Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector in the Province of Iadr Nsobl.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Ultwar is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Ultwar has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Ultwar has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Ultwar has an archaeological site believed to be associated with the now-vanished Ancients precursor race.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Ultwar has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Ultwar has a population of 60,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • Around 50% of the population (roughly 30,000 individuals) are ethnic Zhodani.
  • About 50% of the population (approximately 30,000 individuals) consists of Chirpers.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Ultwar possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World Government (G)[edit]

Ultwar has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

The Zhodani Consulate maintains itself through a variety of taxes on goods and services. Each council -- planetary or higher -- has the authority to levy a tax on gross income to support services like hospitals, emergency and transport services, or the Tavrchedl'.

World Law (L)[edit]

Ultwar has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Three broad categories of crime are recognized by the Zhodani Consulate: inadvertent, incited, and insane. The concept of premeditated crime for personal gain fits under the insane heading.

  • Inadvertent crime is an unintentional violation or infraction of the law, resulting from inattention. For minor cases the usual punishment is a small fine.
  • Incited crime is an infraction of a law brought about by another, often resulting from an overreaction to inadvertent crime or misfortune. The solution is re-education.
  • Insane crime is a general heading for most major crimes against property or individuals.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -3 (very unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 6 (few)
  • Labor: 3 (thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 1 (extremely limited)
  • Efficiency: -4 (very poor)

The currency of the Zhodani Consulate is the Abradlnad.

World Culture[edit]

The world is a member of the Zhodani Consulate and maintains the traditions and values of that state.

  • Heterogenity: 3 (monolithic)
  • Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
  • Symbols: 5 (concrete)
