Surrey is a low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the McKenzie Subsector of Alpha Crucis Sector in the Domain of Sol.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
The Surrey system is a binary star system with four planets, one major planetoid, and one asteroid belt. Amongst the planets there are a total of 12 satellites. Two of the four planets are gas giants.
The two stars are both red dwarfs with an average distance of 20 AU between them at any given time. Together they orbit a barycenter nearly exactly between the two of them in a 96.91 year cycle. Each star has a small planetary system around them.

World Culture[edit]
The small population of Surrey have a unified culture cemented together by their connection to the Imperial navy. The only noticeable custom to outsiders is the significant presence of a small rodent pet owned by nearly all families.
Historical Data[edit]
The Solomani Rim War ended in an armistice in 1002 with the McKenzie subsector under occupation of the Third Imperium. By 1005 terrorist activity on Imperial-occupied worlds forced a change in strategy for the location of Imperial Naval facilities. This strategy called for the construction of fortress worlds on small barren moons and planets with little or no Solomani population where the starport could be constructed into the surface of the worlds. Surrey is one of these fortress worlds.
