Staff Admiral appointments are generally granted to Admirals of the substantive ranks of Rear Admiral (O8)* thru General Admiral (O9)* from a particular non-line division as both leadership within their particular Imperial Navy Branch and as advisors to more senior admirals with regard to the specific technical specialties within that division at the Branch Senior Flag Officer level, and as heads of operations and policy for those branches as a whole at the Senior Flag Officer level.

Description (Specifications)[edit]
Senior Flag Officers are Staff Admirals appointed as senior officers from each Imperial Navy Branch as Imperial heads of those branches and advising on the technical requirements of those branches to the Grand Admiral. These officers are General Admirals holding the same rank as that of a Sector Admiral (O9), but are known as Staff Admirals and hold the title Senior Flag Officer (Branch) e.g. Senior Flag Officer (Engineering).
Each sector will also have a senior officer from each Imperial Navy Branch as local head of that branch and advising on the technical requirements of that branch to the Sector Admiral. These Staff Admirals typically have the rank of Rear Admiral thru Fleet Admiral and hold the title Flag Officer <Sector Name> (Branch) -- e.g. Flag Officer Deneb (Gunnery).
