Scharm is a barren world with no overt population, government, or law level.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Iyarl Subsector of Iphigenaia Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Scharm is a binary star system.
- The primary is an orange main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x10 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Scharm is a Twilight Zone World.
- In the narrow region between permanent night and permanent day, the primary star eternally hangs on the horizon.
The mainworld orbits within the primary star's habitable zone.
- The world orbits far inside of the star's jump shadow, requiring long manoeuver times to or from a safe jump distance.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Scharm is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Scharm has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Scharm has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Primitive native life. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The system is a desolate frontier. It is likely that very few intelligent beings have ever have set foot on its worlds.
- Commercial traffic is rare: the system sees very few visiting ships.
- Commo only picks up natural background noise and static.
- There are no active navigation beacons.
This world lies on the Aslan Ihatei migration route into the Kyatulyare Vassal.
- Large Aslan transport vessels and their escorts may occasionally be encountered within the system.
- They may be carrying settlers to coreward or returning to the Hierate, to rimward, laden with goods and commodities.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Scharm does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Scharm possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)[edit]
Scharm has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Military[edit]
None.
World Law (L)[edit]
Scharm has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
