Roup is an industrial water world with a tainted atmosphere. The system has a population over one billion. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Regina Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Roup, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a count. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel.

Astrography & Planetology[edit]

Roup is a water world situated on the express boat route from Regina (Spinward Marches 1910) to Efate (Spinward Marches 1705).

Its population of 3.4 billion is concentrated on the peaks of a few underwater mountains, the only dry land on the world, or on synthetic islands grown from webs of microorganisms and seaweed. These huge rafts support vast cities, factories, farmland, and even the starport.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Tukera family maintains a villa on the island of Lurka, as well as dockside and cargo rights for regular route cargo and liner visits to Roup. Roup's citizens practice aquaculture on a planetary scale, with whole oceans sectioned off using bubblenets to maximize productivity.

Even though a class C starport Roup High does exist, it is a mishmash of a Tech Level 7 space station with no spin and no anti-g so zero-G, with rudimentary facilities acting more as a shuttle dock than anything else. It is sometimes referred to as RVP1, Roup Vanity Project 1.

Real food (as opposed to the local concentrates made from fish) is highly prized by the population.

Military[edit]

The Imperium maintains a small regimental size formation of the 1073rd White Horse armored cavalry. The unit is housed on the Nishkin Atoll which is near the equator but distant from inhabited zones, which allows for uninhibited training and live ordnance usage. The White Horse operates a premier jungle warfare training school and a SERE School which is feared by the air crews and scout crews which are sent here for the dreaded Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape course.
