Regell is a barren world with no overt population, government, or law level.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Tempoko Subsector of Iphigenaia Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
The system is a trinary, made up of an extremely close binary pair and a distant tiny brown dwarf companion.
- The binary pair and the brown dwarf orbit around a barycenter every few centuries.
- The two close binary stars spin around one another every few hours.
- The inner rocky worlds around the binary pair follow compact resonant orbits.
- The outer giant worlds follow larger near-Bodean orbits.
- The brown dwarf only retains a single planetoid belt.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Regell is a Twilight Zone World.
- In the narrow region between permanent night and permanent day, the primary star eternally hangs on the horizon.
The mainworld orbits within the binary pair's combined habitable zone.
- The world orbits far inside of the stars' jump shadow, requiring long manoeuver times to or from a safe jump distance.
- The world is one of a resonant chain of planets that have related orbital periods.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Regell is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Regell has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Regell has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
