Maudhii is a poor, moderate-population desert world with over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts, and no free-standing water. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. This is a cold world with an overall climate at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Maudhii, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a viscount. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Amban Esh.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Maudhii is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Maudhii is the fourth and outermost satellite of the system's innermost gas giant, Tithra. Dry, barren, and very cold, the world is a natural source of complex metal-silicate lubricants, crucial components in a wide variety of electronic, engineering, and medical-prosthetic processes.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Maudhii is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Maudhii has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Maudhii has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
History and Background[edit]
Maudhii is an important industrial center funded by Interstellar Petrochemical Processing.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Maudhii has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used here:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Nahuatl: A language with its roots in ancient Terra, now used as the primary language of the Amec Trade Protectorate.
- Sall: The predominate language of Bolivar (Dagudashaag 0240), also spoken as a common second language in surrounding subsectors, including Zeda.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
