Empress of the Third Imperium. Accomplished Sophontologist, Imperial Consort to Emperor Strephon Alkhalikoi, and mother to Grand Princess Ciencia Iphegenia Alkhalikoi, the heir apparent to the Iridium Throne.

lolanthe Guuilbataashullibaa was born on 064-1052, the daughter of Ashur Sirush Guuilbataashullibaa of Tansa, sector duke of Gushemege Sector and member of a prominent Vilani noble family, and Dame Celia Abartii, K.B., former member of the Imperial Diplomatic Corps, being the fifth child of their marriage[2]. Not expected to inherit her father's duchy, at age 14 she joined the retinue of Princess Lydia Alkhalikoi as a lady-in-waiting on Capital where both attended Karbiili School, becoming close friends. Iolanthe would go on to attend the University of Sylea where she would earn a doctorate in sophontology, followed by three years of field work on a backwater world in Fornast Sector.
Upon returning to Capital on 1079 she reacquainted with Princess Lydia and was reintroduced to Emperor Strephon, having first met him during his coronation on 1071. Following a brief courtship and consultation with his sister, Strephon asked for Iolanthe's hand in marriage. After thinking on the offer for several days, she married Emperor Strephon in 1079, eight years after his coronation.
Empress Iolanthe travels frequently, having as of 1105 visited the Vegan Autonomous Region, the Lancian Cultural Region, the Amec Protectorate, the League of Antares, and the Luriani Cultural Association, earning her a reputation as as an advocate for the Cultural Regions. Within Core Sector, she frequently travels amongst the Sylean Worlds whilst partaking in ceremonies and festivals celebrating Sylean heritage, feeling that despite not being of Sylean descent, as Empress it is her responsibility and great honour to support and foster the culture of those to whom the Third Imperium owes a great debt[3].
As of 1105 Empress Iolanthe has not positioned herself regarding support towards a Chanestin cultural region. She does, however, express great admiration for the historical achievements of the Chanestin people and actively engages in fundraising activities to preserve their unique and ancient architectural monuments, some of which are nearly 3,000 years old[4].
Era: Rebellion[edit]
She was murdered, along with her husband the Emperor Strephon and their daughter the Grand Princess Ciencia Iphegenia Alkhalikoi, in Dulinor’s attempted coup of the Imperial Government in 132-1116. The "real" Strephon used some of her frozen ova (in his possession at the time of his exile) to produce another heir, Avery, born on Usdiki in 1118.
