History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Laurentine Gulf was first charted by vessels from the Last Armada sometime before 2255AD. Its exact position and dimensions were plotted by the University of Tal Varisa Deep Sky Program between 5520AD and 5550AD.

It is considered likely that the Last Armada crossed the Laurentine Gulf towards its rimward end, most likely within the coreward part of Argent Sector, though the exact process that was used to achieve this is unknown. Some academics propose that the Gulf was traversed at sublight speeds, though it is considered more likely that tankers and fuel caches were utilised to create a temporary jump-bridge.

The Gulf was named for Admiral Patience Laurent, the commander of the Last Armada.
