Khuiseatasyeh is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is an Ascondi-populated world in Yuyahtao Subsector of Afawahisa Sector.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh is this world's Aslan name, as few non-Ascondi can repeat the sounds the local population make when referring to their home.
Located within the Great Rift, this world is not easily accessed from other systems.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh has a well-developed ecosystem in the process of being destroyed by an extreme ice age.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh is home to a few hundred thousand Ascondi. They were once scattered across the globe in small city-states, but the rapid onset of the recent ice age has forced a population relocation towards the equator.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
- The small Downport is within an endangered city, with ice sheets advancing towards it. The few Travellers who pass through the port describe its inhabitants as 'inventive, dignified, and doomed'.
World Population (P)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh has a population of 3,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population consists of Ascondi.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion, and the most fundamental atomic energy.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ground cars or automobiles and tracked vehicles.
- Water: Large ships and submersibles with steel hulls.
- Air: Early aircraft including seaplanes and very early unmanned rockets.
The Ascondi of Khuiseatasyeh had a TL-6 society before the ice age began and some of their industrial-technological base remains; however, they are losing ground rapidly and may not be able to support their technological society for much longer.
World Government (G)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law (L)[edit]
Khuiseatasyeh has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
World Economy[edit]
With no alternative, the Ascondi of Khuiseatasyeh continue to retreat into the remaining warm lands, relocating their remaining manufacturing centres and harvesting enough agriculture to support the survivors.
