Ginshar is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It has few prospects for economic development. Life here is drastically bleak.
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Adar Subsector of Hinterworlds Sector.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
- Nearly 100% of the population is composed of Ginsharians.
- Less than 10% of the population is composed of baseline humans and other non-human sophonts.
- This system's inhabitants are extremely xenophobic and hostile to anyone or thing that is not invited giving it an Amber rating by the IISS.

Mainworld Data[edit]
Ginshar is a totally artificial world.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

Native Lifeforms[edit]
Native Sophont (NIL): Ginsharians[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Ginshar and Ginsharians go back at least two millennia as an occupied system. Ginsharians are a pseudobiological or synthetic Human species.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Ginshar has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Ginshar has a population of 8,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population consists of Ginsharians.
Urbanisation[edit]
Ginsharian architecture is characterized by its clean, sterile, and geometric lines. Ginsharian cities are typically large monolithic structures composed of windowless cubes, cylinders, or other basic symmetrical geometric shapes. The exterior color is generally white, but other colors may be used.
The interior of Ginsharian structures is best described as sterile. There will be no evidence of anything that doesn't have a useful function. Art, decoration, or any other aesthetic present will have an artificial and contrived feel. Other species that have visited Ginsharian cities have often commented that they are "unsettling" or "disquieting".
Ginsharian cities have what is often described as an "eerie" silence to them. The usual hum of conversation, music, or other sound is largely or entirely missing.
World Government (G)[edit]
Ginshar is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
- This rating by the IISS is not considered entirely correct. Ginshar is truly a "hive mind" artificial intelligence that acts like a self-perpetuating oligarchy. Ginsharians could be called successful communists.
World Military[edit]
There is no distinction between military and civilian on Ginshar. All Ginsharians are armed, though generally non-aggressive unless provoked.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Ginshar has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Ginshar possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
