Gaae has both a thin tainted atmosphere and no surface water which makes habitation by sophonts difficult. The system has a population between 10,000 and a million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Shallows Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Gaae, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. This is the homeworld to Ka Keleree, a Minor Race. During the Long Night this world was named Karsa.

Gaae is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.
The related lifeforms create their habitats by exuding large quantities at powerful acids complex mixtures of sulfuric, chromic, and hydrofluoric acids with numerous catalytic components) which can rapidly etch away the rock through which they tunnel.

Native Sophont: Ka Keleree
History and background
The Ka Keleree city-tunnels are usually found excavated around large underground lakes. They have evolved out of scavenger stock that still have many living representatives on the world. The race appear to be a curious hybrid of animal and plant (fungi to be exact). They are predominantly carbon-based but have silicon as a significant component of their make-up, most notably their tough outer shell.
