Daloil is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Monway Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.
- It orbits the secondary star.
- It is a balmy tropical world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- It is part of the The Oujda Trade.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Daloil is a binary star system.
- The primary is an unstable yellow subgiant.
- The secondary is a yellow main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting the secondary star.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the secondary star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's warmer inner H+ region
- It receives higher levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits inside the star's Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Daloil is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Daloil has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences high temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Daloil has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites:[edit]
Daloil retains two small vacuum moons.
- They orbit once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Primitive native life occupying a number of ecological niches. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Daloil is a quiet backwater that is developing due to its involvement with The Oujda Trade.
- Information about the system is sparse.
- The resources of the system are gradually being exploited.
A few organizations and private interests are active within the system.
- Commercial traffic is relatively frequent: ships occasionally arrive and depart.
- Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
- One or two commercial navigation beacons may be active.
- Vessels occasionally operate among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Daloil has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
Plans have been drawn up to upgrade the starport to Class C status. However disputes among the various on-world governments over funding have resulted in the plans being put on hold.
World Population (P)[edit]
Daloil has a population of 7,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Urbanization[edit]
A few large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.
- The population are concentrated into a single relatively densely populated region.
- Much of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Daloil possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Daloil has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Military[edit]
Approximately 180,000 personnel.
- Each nation-state maintains its own standing army.
World Law (L)[edit]
Daloil has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 8 (moderate)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 1 (extremely limited)
- Efficiency: -4 (very poor)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 5 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 3 (xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
- Symbols: 5 (concrete)
World Timeline[edit]
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
