• It is a member of the Tomon Trade Federation in the Hedreunides Subsector of Matzen Sector.

• This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
• This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.

• Chenienus is populated by c.3,000,000,000 sophonts. The vast majority of these are simply humanity.
• In addition to the humans who call the planet home there is another sophont race that called Chenienus home long before humanity arrived, the Scerruns.
• The Scerruns are a minor race and have shown no signs or particular interest in space travel. They have a tech level of their own that is roughly equivalent to Tech Level 9. On very rare occasions a Scerrun will chance encounter an offworld starship crew and ultimately leave there home planet but this is usually under exceptional circumstances.

World Starport (St)

Chenienus has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Facilities

Port facilities within the system include:

• At anyone time there are c.40 landing pads availble to ships wishing to land at the startport. Most of these pads can handle vessels of up to 800Dt , however there are a small number that can handle larger vessels.
• In addition to the operational pads there are a rolling number of pads that are being maintained or indeed mothballed till required.
• The port offers standard repair and maintenance facilities however there are no shipyards located on Chenienus.

World Technology Level (T)

Chenienus possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

• Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.

Chenienus has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

• Chenienus is 'governed' by the world of Tomon, capital world of the Tomon Trade Federation.
• The planet is essentially occupied by Tomon and the vast majority of the non-native sophonts living here were initially brought here by the Oligarchs and Corporations at the heart of the Tomon Trade Federation. Often those individuals and their families were forcibly transferred here from other worlds within the Federation. Those currently living on the world are now descendents of those original transients.
• Chenienus is sometimes referred to as the 'bread basket" of Tomon. The planets abundant resources have made it hugely important to the Tomon Trade Federation and as such the world is ruled over by a local governor appointed by the Tomon Trade Federation. The Chenienus Governor maintains control of the planet via the local police force, judiciary and Tomon military personnel.

World Military

• Chenienus technically has no military forces of its own.
• The planet does have extensive military personnel based upon the planet from other worlds within the Tomon Trade Federation.
• The military forces available to the Chenienus Governor are of a very high standard with typically high tech equipment.

World Law (L)

Chenienus has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

• Although Chenienus maintains a law level of 5 for the vast majority of judicial processes for those associated with Trade and Personal Freedoms the law levels are much high, these are 9 and B respectively.
• Trade is heavily subjected to Tomon Trade Federation Law and as such outsiders will likely find it difficult to transport goods on and off planet without encountering some form of problem.
• Personal Freedoms are hugely restricted. The average individual is heavily restricted in terms of travel around the planet although with appropriate licences it is possible. Leaving the plan is almost unheard of for locals hence the main reason the starport has never been upgraded.

• Across the surface there over 30 cities with a significant population.
• The starport does have a small startown but this is mainly operated and occupied by Tomon military personnel.
• At least 5 of the cities maintain spaceports to allow the movement of goods to the starport and also ships in orbit.
• What should be noted is that the local sophont race the Scerrun, although found in the human dominated cities, maintain their own communities in the heavily forrested regions of Chenienus and its almost unheard of for humans to visit those communities given the restrictions in personal freedom.
