Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Baker has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Baker has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Baker was part of the Galian Trade League and resisted all attempts to retain it as part of the Galian Federation. Its stubborn independence resulted in an economic downturn, and the government eventually found a compromise by accepting an Imperial offer of investment that required a reconciliation of sorts with the Galians but allowed Baker to remain a neutral system.

Baker's decline was turned around completely and the world now seems to be enjoying something of a golden age.

Baker provides an alternate route into the Galian Federation for Imperial ships wishing to avoid Caldwell.

World Starport[edit]

Baker has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Baker has a population of 10,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

World Languages[edit]

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Baker possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Baker is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
