Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Anaxias is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Anaxias has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Anaxias has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.

Native Lifeform: Lowalaa Bird[edit]

The Lowalaa bird, a species native to Ituxi -- also known as Barneby -- was transported to Anaxias during the First Imperium to control the local equivalent of insects.

  • Its ability to adapt to the new environment was underestimated, however, and the population rapidly exceeded that of its original homeworld.
  • It is now the most common aviform on Anaxias, where it is popularly known as the Flying Grace.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The high-population Anaxian society has several different political factions. Divisions include issues such as the world's gravitic cities and whether they are the cause of the steady decline in quality of life within the overpopulated city structures on the surface. A prevalent anti-cyborg movement also causes strife for the large population of citizens with artificial replacements.

Imperial High & Landed Nobility[edit]

Anaxias, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdoms of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Anaxias has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Anaxias has a population of 90,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).

Urbanization[edit]

The capital is Rheanon, a gravitic city of 4 billion people. Other cities include Sabo and Dobson in the north, Kohinke and Pinnix near the south pole, and newly-constructed Baija, intended to be another floating city.

World Government[edit]

World Government (G)[edit]

Anaxias is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

  • Anaxian government is broken into two branches -- the powerful Republican Congress of the People, which is a collection of several councils, and the less powerful Executive Office of the Marquis of Anaxias. The two have operated with relative harmony for several generations.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Anaxias has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Anaxias possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
