• It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
• It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
• Its economy and population are slowly growing and living conditions are expected to improve in the near future barring outside forces.
• This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation, including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
• It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Sol Subsector of Solomani Rim Sector in the Domain of Sol.

Barnard is an Imperial vacuum world located on the Corridor chain within Sol Subsector of the Solomani Rim.

• Barnard is under military rule.
• It is located on the Corridor.
• Barnard was the site of First Contact between the Solomani and Vilani in the year -2422 (AD 2097). At the time it was the site of a small Sharurshid prospecting base.
• After first contact the Solomani, under the oversight of UNSCA, also settled Barnard.
• In -2404 (AD 2118) an incident between the Solomani settlement and a Sharurshid caravan resulted in the start of the First Interstellar War.
