Ankod is a pre-agricultural, pre-Industrial world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.

  • It requires significant imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
  • Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly improve barring outside forces.
  • This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
  • A Prison World, exile camp, or prison camp for criminals or other exiles is located upon this world in addition to other points of interest.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Core Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
  • This world has an Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
  • This world was once known as Irurk.

History & Background (Dossier)

The Imperial Navy base at Ankod has a partnership with universities on neighbouring Knabbib to develop security technology that provides a protective cordon for Capital and the subsector at large.

Imperial High / Landed Nobility

Ankod, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the estate and fiefdoms of three members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

World Starport

Ankod has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Linguistic Topography

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level

Ankod possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government

Ankod is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

World Law Level

Deepwater Maximum Security Prison is an Imperial prison located on Ankod, in the city of Altisun in the State of Hmar.
