Background
Most of the conflicts were brief affairs, with the fighting concluded and a treaty agreed before news of the outbreak of hostilities reached the respective capitals. Some of the Border Wars, most notably the Haden Insurgency, lasted for decades and cost many thousands of lives. The Border Wars as a whole are considered to be the opening conflict of the Scybrian Wars. They were ended by the formal ratification of accords and agreements that led to the Short Peace.
