History & Background (Dossier)
Formed by nine space fairing systems in 715, many of which were asteroid or planetoid based, with the intent of gaining admission to the Third Imperium. Their naming of their republic was an attempt at political leverage. This resulted in some trade with Imperial interests, but no political interest or support. The numerous, and continuous, intrigues and wars of the Imperium elsewhere, along with seeing how the Solomani were treated, lead to a break in relations in 991. At that time, the Loyal Nineworlds began seeking to expand their political influence to adjoining systems by diplomacy backed by veiled threats of military intervention. The Loyal Nineworlds also began to reach out to neighboring polities like the Anubian Trade Coalition and Cytrialin Unity to make diplomatic and economic ties. In 1106, this expansion had caused sufficient friction with the neighboring Farreach Margravate that a war broke out between the two. The war ended in late 1115 when the Farreach suffered a catastrophic and empire-wide collapse of advanced electronic and computer technology to unknown causes. Today, the Loyal Nineworlds seeks to reestablish its military strength, increase internal stability, and continue to expand its political control of adjacent systems primarily through trade and diplomacy.
