Dynam is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial world lacking adequate development for its economy to become prosperous.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation, including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Masionia Subsector of Lishun Sector in the Domain of Antares.
- This world has an Imperial Naval Depot.
- Dynam contains a major Naval Depot, and the system is sometimes known simply as "Depot."
- During the Long Night this world was named Gamkuuruu.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)

History & Background (Dossier)
The early years of the Third Imperium saw the belt as an active mining community.
- By 520 the belter activity had ceased due to lack of finds.
- In 690 the Imperial Navy first established a naval depot in the Dynam system, around the moon Cryomet.
- 800s Project LONGBOW was initiated. LONGBOW is an acronym for “Long Baseline Observation Window,” the name for a system created for observation of the galactic core and the Zhodani axis of exploration toward the core. The Longbow collector plane was located in the Depot (Lishun 1219) system as part of a sprawling Imperial Navy facility there, aiding in its concealment.
- By 940 depot operations began to wind down.
- In 990, following the Third Frontier War, the Navy decided to use the system as a center for mothballing reserve ships. The initial set of 150 obsolete ships from the Spinward Marches Sector were put into orbit around Candescene.
- In 1002, after the Solomani Rim War another 300 ships were added to the graveyard.
- By 1010, the original depot on Cryomet was completely shutdown.
- Over the years more ships have been added to the depot.
- By 1100 there were more than 1000 mothballed ships.
