Mousak is an icy, non-agricultural and nonindustrial vacuum world, whose surface is ice-capped and with nearly all of its water frozen and warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Veesene Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This world lies on the Barabek Loop Star Lane.
System Data[edit]
Sharbin-Mousak System[edit]
The primary is Sharbin, a red subdwarf star. It has a luminosity of 0.0038 Sols, a mass of 0.114 Sols, and a diameter of 167,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) Deena, a ringed small gas giant: (IIa) Mousak is its inner moon and is designated the mainworld, (III) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (IV) a thin atmosphere radworld, (V) a sparse rocky planetoid belt, (VI) a ringed large gas giant, and (VII) a trace atmosphere worldlet form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
(II) Deena[edit]
(II) Deena is a ringed small gas giant that orbits Sharbin at a mean distance of 0.38 AU (56.8 million km) and has an orbital period of 253 days 10 hours. It has a diameter of 45,000 km and is a faintly banded pale blue colour. It retains a family of three major satellites of which the inner, (IIa) Mousak, is designated the mainworld.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(IIa) Mousak[edit]
(IIa) Mousak is the inner of the three major moons of (II) Deena and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 9 diameters (405,000 km), with an orbital period of 34 days 1 hour: it is tidally locked to Deena. It has an axial tilt of 2 degrees. Mousak has a diameter of 4,472 km, a density of 4.61 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.30 G. Tidal stresses caused by the gravitational pull of Deena cause regular geological activity. It retains an atmosphere rated as Vacuum. Around 10% of the surface is covered in a crust of water ice. Mean surface temperature: -65°C.
Mainworld geography and topography[edit]
Total surface area: 62.8 million km², Land surface area: 56.5 million km², Ice surface area: 6.3 million km².
Native lifeforms[edit]
No world in the Mousak system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World starport[edit]
Mousak has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level[edit]
Mousak possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World government[edit]
Mousak is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
